(ANSA) - ROME, APRIL 07 - The traditional PrimoMaggio Concert in Rome, promoted by the trade unions, returns to Piazza San Giovanni.

After two years of pandemic and in the current moment of war in Ukraine, the Concert takes on an even more symbolic and profound meaning: confronting the present to face the future with responsibility, vision and hope.

It will be a collective story, crossed by music and words, a moment of aggregation and awareness that can stimulate discussion on issues concerning social life (broadcast live on Rai3, Rai Radio2 and Rai Play): work, safety, rights, health, female condition, tolerance and acceptance.

On a musical level, the Concertone continues its avant-garde gallery line to return a reliable photograph of Italian music by hosting new realities of the national scenary and already established names.

These are the first confirmed names of a cast that will consist of over 30 sets: Ariete, Bresh, Coez, Fasma, Mace ft Venerus, Colapesce, Gemitaiz, Thiele, Mara Sattei, Mecna, Rancore and Rovere.

In addition, for the first time at the Concertone, there will be the artists of Notre Dame de Paris, with a special performance that celebrates twenty years of success.

In the afternoon, on the big stage of San Giovanni, the 3 winners of 1MNEXT 2022 will also be exhibited, the contest of the May Day Concerto which every year, among the more than a thousand registered, rewards the best 3 emerging proposals, which will be selected during the live final on 23 April in Rome by the Quality Jury composed of: Massimo Bonelli (artistic director of the May Day Concert, president of the jury), Anna Rampinelli (A&R Manager Warner Music Italy), Claudio Cabona (Rockol), Lucia Stacchiotti (iCompany), Barbara Pierro (CGIL), Nicola Di Grigoli (CISL) and Francesco Melis (UIL).

The absolute winner of the contest will finally be announced during the Concertone.
