As part of a press conference for the participants of the international poetry competition ahead of the show Israel Calling, the Israeli representative thanked all the countries that came and shared a personal and especially sensitive moment with Kalush Orchestra, against the background of his Ukrainian origins and the war in Europe.


This morning (Thursday) a press conference was held ahead of the Israel Calling event that will take place tonight at Menora Tel Aviv Hall with the participation of Michael Ben David, Israel's representative for the Eurovision Song Contest.

The press conference was held at the Herods Hotel from the Fattal chain on the initiative of producer Tali Eshkoli.

The Israeli representative thanked all 24 representatives of the countries who came to honor us and addressed the Ukrainian representatives, Kalush Orchestra.

A cousin shared with them that all his maternal family members live in Kiev and that many of his uncles came to Israel following the war.

"My heart is with you," he told them.

The singers from the 24 countries that will participate in the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Italy will take the big stage tonight, live from Tel Aviv to all over Europe, in an event simulated by a mini-Eurovision hosted by Shfita and featuring Eurovision winners Gali Atari (1979) and Emily de Forest winner 2013.
