A mermaid back skirt.
A high-cut dress from the front.
On her Instagram account, the influencer and businesswoman Kim Kardashian published this Thursday, April 7, a photo carousel that was misleading to say the least.
In front of an incredible turquoise marble wall, the founder of shapewear brand Skims first appears to be clad only in a satiny sheath skirt.
But surprise: when she turns around, a strapless dress with a particularly daring neckline appears.
This creation then turns out to be built on a double illusion.
The “T” cutout neckline that seems suspended is actually held by a sheer strap in the back.
Magical.
The actress was actually inspired by a dress created by American designer Stephen Sprouse in 1998, and had it reproduced.
Worn at the time of the parade by Kate Moss, the famous mermaid sheath then caused a sensation during the red carpet of the MTV Awards, the same year, highlighting the generous shapes of the model and playmate Carmen Electra.
And to instantly become cult!
“How this dress stayed in place remains a mystery.
My breasts were bulging all over the place and I was literally on every 'worst dressed' list in this outfit," she said in a 2017 Vogue interview.

During this same interview with the magazine, the actress who made the cover of Playboy adds: "But all in all, I looked at this famous dress [recently] and I thought to myself that it seemed so covering compared to this who wears today... In the 90s, it was really complicated if you wanted to wear sexy clothes.
A reflection that surely shares Kim Kardashian, who discovered herself in a much more daring way, and more than once.
