Passengers on a train on metro line 8 in Paris were stuck in the dark and without electricity for nearly two hours before being evacuated, an AFP journalist found in one of the carriages on Friday.

Due to a broken down train, the train is parked between Invalides and Concorde
" specified the RATP on the Twitter page of line 8. The train "
stopped around 07:10 between the Invalides and Concorde stations, lights off
" , reported the journalist.

People in my car remained calm and patient, some calling their employers to let them know of the delay and taking photos as evidence.
The driver was just telling us about the damage to the train and asking us not to open the doors
, ”she continued.
When questioned, the RATP mentioned a “
breakdown
”, requiring the arrival of another train in order to “
tow the defective train
” to the technical services.
It was only "
around 8:55 a.m.
" that the agents began to evacuate the train, according to the AFP journalist.
Traffic, interrupted between the La Motte-Picquet-Grenelle and Concorde stations, gradually resumed from 10:30 a.m., said the RATP.
