The number of people hospitalized with a diagnosis of Covid-19 increased slightly on Sunday, while the number of new cases fell slightly, according to figures published by health authorities.
Hospitals welcome 23,626 Covid-19 patients, against 23,474 the day before and 22,251 a week earlier.
There was also a slight increase in critical care services, which treat 1,562 patients with the most serious forms of the disease.
They were 1,543 on Saturday, against 1,539 a week ago.
Virus circulation still “sustained”
On the contamination side, pharmacies and laboratories recorded 107,654 new positive cases in 24 hours, against 141,690 the day before.
The seven-day daily average, which smooths out statistical jolts, stands at 130,014, against 134,876 the day before.
It was 138,325 cases a week earlier.
The SARS-Cov2 virus is still circulating in a “sustained” way despite the shift in the curve of counted contaminations, Public Health France observed on Friday, unable to affirm “to date” that the peak of the epidemic rebound has passed.
