The horrific shooting attack that claimed the lives of three people last weekend on Dizengoff Street provoked support for Israel from an unexpected direction.

I mean, really, really unexpected.

Model

Gigi Hadid

, who used to slander the country in every possible media, posted a story on her Instagram account condemning the attack.

"I want to say that terrorism strives against the real message of the Palestine Liberation Movement. What happened in Tel Aviv is a tragedy, a real disappointment for Palestinians who want peace and fair treatment for all - regardless of religion, race or political position."

"Innocent Israeli citizens do not deserve to die. It does not help in any way, that is not the answer. My condolences to the families of those killed."

Over the years, Hadid has published quite a bit of anti-Israel content.

Last month, it compared the Russian invasion of Ukraine to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

In 2018, Hadid called for "liberating Gaza" following riots in the Gaza Strip.

"For me, it's not a matter of religion or of something against each other, but in my eyes it is a matter of greed."

She added the hashtags "liberate Palestine", "liberate Gaza" and "coexistence".
