A Strange Method for Accelerating Hair Growth (TikTok / @helenreavey)

Hair stylist Helen Rivi, founder of the Act + Acre care brand, recommends rubbing your nails together for a few minutes daily to accelerate thicker and healthier hair growth.

Sounds weird to you?

It turns out to be completely true.

The hair stylist who treats quite a few stars claims that this simple hand movement stimulates the brain to send signals to adult stem cells so that dormant and unproductive hair follicles will live.

She also shared that rubbing nails increases blood flow to the hair follicles in favor of healthier hair growth.

"Do you think I'm crazy? Do a Google search," Helen challenged her followers on Tiktok.

According to Health Shots, rubbing nails does have an effect on the hair, as the nerves under the nail are attached to the scalp.

Regular rubbing of the nails stimulates the flow of blood and oxygen to the scalp - and as Helen says, it also helps to rejuvenate the hair follicles and improve its growth.

If you want to try, all you have to do is create a half fist with both your hands and rub the nails of each hand with each other deftly for example about ten minutes.

Helen added that you can do it all at once or spread out the 10 minutes for the day.

Helen is an expert in the field of hair and helps people with problems such as hair loss, hair breakage, oily scalp and psoriasis of the scalp.

She regularly shares hair tips and tutorials on her ticketing channel.

And here is her method for adding volume to hair:

Her video garnered over 5 million views and hundreds of surprised viewer comments.

"What is the connection between nails and hair? The human body never ceases to amaze," one wrote and another added: "I do it for years and years. Let me tell you it works."

Another viewer wrote: "I've been doing this because of anxiety since I was a kid. I have a lot of hair" and another added: "I did Google. There are a lot of articles that support it."

One of the viewers felt relieved when Helen added that the trick also works with acrylic nails.

Medical experts also believe that finishing the shower in 30 seconds of bathing in cold water can help strengthen hair and give a smoother look.

According to Beauty Heaven, cold showers flatten the hair follicles and increase their ability to hold on to the scalp, leading to shiny, stronger and healthier hair.
