The scandalous book series, previously adapted into five films, will return with a new and shaky mini-series

"Flowers in the Attic" by the author and.

Andrews is considered a kind of modern literary classic, or at least a must-read book in the library of millennial teenagers.

The book, which was part of a saga of five gothic novels, also received a successful cinematic adaptation in 1987.

In 2014, the Leiptyts chain took up the gauntlet and created a more faithful remake of the original - mainly due to the representation of the incest plot that is at the center of the book.

The Lipet version from 2014 was a huge success, when in 2015 the network for the first time brought cinematic adaptations to the three other books in the series, "Petals flying in the wind", "Flowers grew thorns" and "Flowers withered camellia" (starring James Maslow ) - When the fifth and final book in the series, "Garden of Shadows", which was a trailer for the whole saga, chose the network not to process the screen.

But now, after 7 years, the TV network announces "Flowers in the Attic: The Original Story" - a sequel (and this time not a movie),

"Flowers in the Attic" is Andrews' first book.

Its plot takes place in the 1950s and is told from the point of view of ten-year-old Kathy Dolenganger, who is locked in the attic of her grandmother's house with her brother, as their mother and grandmother seek to hide them until the family's grandfather dies, ensuring the family's economic survival.

While the mother gradually abandons them as the book progresses, the grandmother often abuses her grandchildren and abuses them in a variety of ways.

This weekend, a 2-and-a-half-minute trailer for a mini-series was released, which will be spread over four episodes and will air on July 9.

As mentioned, the series is based on "Garden of Shadows," the fifth and final book in the Dolenganger family series, which traces the early plots of grandmother Olivia Winfield, a character portrayed in the original book as no less than a monster, who takes her grandchildren to physical and verbal hell while locking them in her attic.

Olivia's new original story will present her as a stubborn young woman determined to succeed, who unexpectedly meets Malcolm Foxworth, a sought-after, well-known and coveted bachelor.

After a brief affair, Olivia "finds herself as the mistress of the impressive Foxworth," according to the press release about the series.

"Then she soon discovers that the life of the legend she was expecting has become a nightmare."

This is because beneath Malcolm's impressive figure "hides a cold heart, and a perverted evil that resides within the walls of his house. And he will threaten Olivia's happiness and the happiness of her children."

According to the original story, Olivia's efforts to protect her family will slowly make her the awful version of herself, and a character that readers and viewers of "Flowers in the Attic" know and despise.

This process, according to the new series, is what will lead her later in life to decide on locking her grandchildren in the attic of her home.

The lead roles in the series will be filled by British actors Jamima Roper ("The Black Dahlia") and Max Irons ("Dorian Gray").

It will also star names like Kelsey Grammer ("Fraser", Harry Hamlin ("Meter Man"), Paul Wesley ("The Vampire Diaries") and Kate Malgrou ("Orange is the New Black").

"Flowers in the Attic," the original book, is considered a best-selling gothic novel, and alongside two films, one remake and, as mentioned, three sequels, it also spawned a 2015 play.

It was read by millions around the world, and was followed by the novels "Petals Flying in the Wind", "Flowers Grow Thorn", "Flowers Withered wither" and as mentioned "Garden of Shadows", on which the series "Flowers in the Attic: The Original Story" will be based.
