Avot Cliff Climbing route in Gush Etzion (Gush Etzion Tourism)

On the Passover holiday, a challenging nature festival for the whole family will be held

in Israel for

the first time in the Ramim ridge above Kiryat Shmona.

This is an extreme festival where a variety of climbing, challenge, bouldering, abseiling, hiking and recreation activities are suitable for everyone.



The festival will be spread over five days on the Passover holiday, between April 21-17, 2022 and is the result of a collaboration between the Kiryat Shmona Municipality, the Climbing Association in Israel and the JNF



. Significantly in popularity, and from a sport that only a few thousand are crazy to talk about, today there are already tens of sports walls around the country and tens of thousands that are engaged in it as a sporting and experiential activity.

"National Cliff Sports Capital"

Today, there are six cliffs that surround Kiryat Shmona: the "Disappearing" cliff, the "Liar", the "Alonim" cliff, the Nazar Cave, the Nir Cliff and the Kfar Giladi Cliff.

Total along the ridge are already prominent and open today for climbing about 300 routes, in a variety of degrees of difficulty.



As part of the EXTREME K8 festival, an extraordinary opportunity will be given to participants of all ages to experience the adrenaline in a variety of high-altitude activities on high ridge cliffs.

Different activities have been tailored for age groups so that everyone can find the activities that suit them.

All activities at the festival take place at the highest safety levels, by certified altitude instructors, under the professional guidance of the Climbing Association in Israel.



The mayor of Kiryat Shmona, according to Avichai Stern, said: "Kiryat Shmona is proud to host the first extreme sports festival of its kind in Israel. In the last three years we have made a strategic decision to prioritize the city's economic and tourism development,



Erez Harali, CEO of the Climbing Association, said: "The vision of the association is to operate all over the country, and it is a great privilege to hold a festival in Kiryat Shmona - since the city and its surroundings have a long-standing climbing community and amazing natural assets."
