• It's hard to believe it's the same house: the crazy upheaval of the little apartment

• We were left speechless: Watch the amazing revolution that a simple, old apartment has undergone

The house we are dealing with is ground-level in Rosh HaAyin, where a couple in their 50s chose to renovate and renovate the ground floor that included the kitchen and living space.

The Corona period emphasized a feeling of suffocation and disorder at home, and along with the fact that the children blossomed from the nest they decided to enter the move, with the main requirement being to create a pleasant and homely feeling, one that would allow them to entertain family and friends comfortably and in style.

This house is an example of the fact that it is not necessary to renovate from the ground up, to get a result that is a reversal.

This is how the makeover was designed

Ventilation of space

The emphasis was on ventilating the space and creating a spacious feel, with open and visually lighter spaces, this was done by breaking down walls and enlarging the public spaces, using a palette of delicate colors and soft, bright and pleasant materials.

The various combinations between color and material have been carefully crafted, in order to create a harmonious feeling in the space.

The kitchen

The kitchen was elongated, crowded, with a look of perpetual clutter.

It had quite a few storage solutions but they were not hardwood floors, and ordered the creation of a mess inside and outside the cabinets.

The work surface in the kitchen was limited, and did not allow for a pleasant and efficient user experience.

The kitchen after the renovation looks spacious and bright, thanks to the light shade chosen for the facades, and a work surface in a polished stone shade.

You should pay attention to the lighting games held by the designer in the kitchen.

Hidden light strips are located above and below the kitchen cabinets, which have resulted in soft beams of light that emanate behind the furniture and produce a soft and inviting look.

In the area of the sink, a decorative light fixture with a frosted glass ball and a brass geometric element were set.

The lighting fixture looks like a piece of jewelry, refined, yet rich in visual richness, creates interest.

For the kitchen windows a Belgian profile look was chosen, with frosted glass that corresponded with the spherical glass lampshade of the lighting fixture set nearby.

Advanced storage solutions, convenient and accessible, make it possible to maintain order in the kitchen and free up a maximum of space allocated for cooking and preparation work.

Smart design has created optimal utilization of the space under the stairs.

From a neglected corner that had a fireplace, which emphasized lost and unused space, it became a practical and well-designed coffee corner.

Before the renovation - a fireplace alcove that looks neglected,

Hidden lighting behind the coffee cupboard envelops the niche under the stairs in soft light,

A dense and dark sight.

The kitchen before the renovation,

The island emphasized the disharmony between the kitchen parts and enhanced the crowded and disorganized look,

Hidden lighting emanates above and below the top cabinet strip,

A window with frosted glass corresponds with the light fixture, which combines frosted glass and a brass element,

Living space

The living space before the renovation was lifeless.

A wall covered with bricks in shades of brown created an oppressive, dark and very unobtrusive element.

It was actually a power wall, on which the TV screen hung.

This wall is a great example from the negative side, of the great impact that a wall has in the living space.

One wall is enough to create an effect on the whole space, and when the wall is heavy and has an old-fashioned look, it envelops the entire space in this look.

The soft color palette chosen during the renovation also characterizes the living space.

The new power wall has an interesting texture and motility.

The array of white curtains chosen for the main showcase in the living room creates a filter that softens the light coming from outside, and softens the look of the power wall.

The choice of a dark power wall, creates proof that dark can certainly be combined with a soft and up-to-date look - the attitude to the design interest that arises from different tones of hue, texture, dynamic look and more determines, and no less important - what items and shades meets the power wall.

In this case the gray wall meets an array of bright curtains that balance the look.

The living space before the renovation - a power wall that emphasizes an old-fashioned and heavy look,

The old-fashioned TV wall has been replaced by a power wall with a dynamic and interesting texture,

The living space after the renovation - a sense of space and ventilation,

At the end of the renovation, when the planner Yael Gittleman came to visit the renovated house, the couple shared their feelings with her, and told her that beyond the end result, the design process was like an antibiotic for their relationship, and that they have enjoyed every closure inside.

On closer inspection, it is an example of the tremendous power that our home has over us, about who we are, about our degree of calm, about our ability to contain ourselves and those around us.

You do not have to renovate from the ground up, and sometimes you can even just renovate.

The great importance is to internalize that our home is our fortress, and to act accordingly.

Were we wrong?

Fixed!
