Launch a consultation table with the Ministries, the representatives of the State Regions Conference, the trade unions and the Extraordinary Commissioner to identify funds and forms of financing of the State Institute for the Deaf of Rome, pending the identification of channels with the reform of the sector of structural and stable funding to start the reform work of the Institute and recognize its nature as a research institution.

The request is made by the Coordination of associations operating in the same structure made up of Anios (Association of Italian Sign Language Interpreters), Cabss (Assistance Center for deaf and deafblind children onlus), Silis Onlus Group, Il Treno Soc. Coop.

Soc.le Onlus and the Laboratorio Zero theater company.

"The deaf community needs its Institute to remain vital,

that voice and strength be given to the ferment of knowledge that already circulates in it: on the education of the deaf child, on artistic expressions, on studies on Italian sign language - explains the Coordination - The Institute, the only one of its kind in Italy, it must continue to deal with research and education on deafness: listening to the needs of deaf people and the drive towards the quality of all the services addressed to them necessarily passes through this reform.

It is not only a question of consolidating a public reference point for the deaf community, but also of offering the whole Italian society the opportunity to grow and be better prepared to face deafness in a fair and respectful way, overcoming the still widespread discrimination and prejudices. "
