Duchess Meghan, 40, wants to accompany her husband Prince Harry, 37, to the "Invictus Games" he created.
A spokesman for the couple confirmed to the British news agency PA that the Duchess wanted to be there in the first few days.
At the event initiated by Harry, which starts next weekend - this time the venue is The Hague - war-disabled soldiers compete in Paralympic competitions.
They took place in London for the first time in 2014, but the tournament had to be postponed several times due to the pandemic.
For the Queen's grandson, who himself served in Afghanistan, the "Invictus Games" are still an affair of the heart even after he has left the British royal family.
On his two previous visits to his old homeland last year, Harry had come without his wife Meghan and their two children Archie, 2, and Lilibet, 10 months, and the couple's children will not be there again.
It was initially unknown whether Harry and Meghan would also make a stop in Great Britain during the trip to Europe.
The majority of the royal family has not yet met little Lilibet.
