A missing German windsurfer on Lake Garda has been found dead.
As confirmed by the Salò Coast Guard, the body of the 54-year-old man was discovered on the shore of the northern Italian lake.
The amateur athlete had been missing since Saturday.
Presumably he had been blown towards the middle of the lake by the rising wind.
First found only surfboard
Police, coastguard and firefighters used boats, drones and helicopters to search for the man.
Early on Sunday morning, only the man's surfboard was initially found.
It is unclear where the accident victim came from in Germany.
