(ANSA) - PALERMO, 11 APR - The President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella, at the invitation of the President of the Bonino Pulejo Foundation and of the Sud Lino Morgante Publishing Company, will be in Messina next Wednesday, on the occasion of the celebrations for the fiftieth anniversary of the Bonino Pulejo Foundation and the seventieth anniversary of the Gazzetta of the South.
The head of state, on his first presidential visit to the city of Messina where he had previously served as Minister of Defense and Education, will participate at 7.30 pm in the event scheduled at the Vittorio Emanuele Theater, where the ceremony for the delivery of the international award will take place " UbertoBonino and Maria Sofia Pulejo ", named after the founders of the Gazette of the South, followed by the concert of the young talents of the orchestra of the Teatro alla Scala Academy in Milan directed by maestro David Coleman.
Before making his entrance into the stalls, where he will be awaited by institutional and representative guests of the reference territories and the publishing scene, Mattarella will visit the two exhibitions in the foyer of the theater, focused on "Communication and its forms in art", supported by the councilor allaCultura della Regione Siciliana and curated by the Regional Museum of Messina with the exhibition of unpublished finds, and the sufilatelia and communication, in collaboration with the Peloritan Circolofilatelico which presents the special "Peloro 2022" theme setup.

In addition to the Gazzetta del Sud, the Ses since 2017 has also published the Giornale di Sicilia, a historic voice of Sicilian information since 1860, whose 162 years will be remembered during the event.
April 13 will also be celebrated through a special layout of the Gazzetta del Sud which in all editions will contain a 36-page insert.
Also on April 13, two special postmarks will be dedicated to the anniversary.
