Yellow in Switzerland, where the head of the national vaccination commission, Christoph Berger, was kidnapped for a few hours on 31 March by a person defined by the Swiss police as a no vax militant fanatic.

A story that had its epilogue a couple of days ago, when agents in Wallisellen, in the canton of Zurich, tried to arrest the alleged perpetrator of the kidnapping, a 38-year-old German businessman, whose identity is not It was revealed that he was killed in the shooting with the agents after he shot a woman, his partner, killing her.

Weapons and ammunition were found in the apartment.

Today, reports the Swiss agency Ats, a 34-year-old man was arrested, presumed to be an accomplice in the kidnapping.

But the whole story has not very clear outlines.

Swiss police said the kidnapper (assuming he was alone) was politically motivated, classifying him as a no vax fanatic, conspiracy theorist, Covid denier and flat Earth advocate.

But Berger, 59, who only emerged in the last few hours as a victim of the kidnapping, said his kidnapper only wanted money: "My kidnapper, whom I didn't know, had me in his power for a good hour. The kidnapper, Berger continued, "never referred to my role as chair of the Vaccination Commission."

Once the kidnapper was reassured that he would do what he could to meet his demands, Berger was released, and he went immediately - he says - to the cantonal police.
