Elden Ring: Mistborn author hot to collaborate on sequel
Which authors are you talking about?
In the run-up to Elden Ring, a big factor in the hype of the game was that Game of Thrones writer George RR Martin was involved.
Apparently, a well-known fantasy author is in the starting blocks again for a sequel to Elden Ring.
Brandon Sanderson, creator of the Mistborn series, is the hot candidate to collaborate with From Software this time.
The author from Utah has already expressed his interest in such a joint project in advance.
In a live stream on YouTube, Brandon Sanderson recently spoke about his current work.
During the stream, he also unboxed a large Elden Ring merchandise bundle that publisher Bandai Namco sent him.
It also included a note that the company had heard about Sanderson's hopes of working together and would be interested in doing so.

Do you already have an idea for a successor?
For Sanderson, this news seems to have come at the right time.
After looking at the note, he revealed that he already has a pitch in mind for a joint project in case he gets the chance.
The moment seems to have come for that now: "I think I'll have to send them my pitch and see what they think." The live stream took place on March 30, so Bandai Namco may have received the pitch by now.

Why Sanderson?
Brandon Sanderson isn't just a prolific author who created one of the larger modern fantasy universes with the Mistborn series.
He's also a self-confessed fan of just about anything From Software.
By his own admission, he'd played every From Software game, including Elden Ring, since the first King's Field on the PS1.
Accordingly, he is not entirely averse to working with the studio, to put it mildly.
Elden Ring: From Software already sees Elden Ring as a franchise – other projects are not excluded
How likely is an Elden Ring 2?
The fact of the matter is that From Software has taken a huge hit with Elden Ring - not only with critics, but also in terms of sales.
With more than 12 million copies of Elden Ring* already sold, From Software and Bandai Namco both celebrated a "fantastic start for a new franchise."
The fact that the companies are already talking about a franchise suggests that further projects involving the Elden Ring name are quite possible.
It is still unknown whether it is also a genuine successor or whether it is more about books and series.
