Urgent recall at Ferrero: Aldi, Lidl, Rewe and Co. are now reacting.

The big Ferrero recall affects several supermarket chains and discounters in Germany.
Aldi, Lidl, Rewe & Co. are now reporting on the incident.
Kassel – Shortly before Easter, the company Ferrero International informed about a current recall* of children's sweets.
In Germany, too, there are warnings against consuming the affected products, including the popular surprise eggs.
Salmonella is suspected.
The recalled sweets were all manufactured in a factory in Belgium and then sold in several countries.
In Germany, various supermarket chains such as Aldi, Lidl and Co. have now responded to the urgent Ferrero recall and explained what customers can do now.

As a precaution, the products mentioned should not be consumed, because salmonella can trigger gastrointestinal diseases.
So far, 105 confirmed cases and 29 suspected cases have emerged.
Children under the age of ten are particularly affected.
This was announced by the authorities based in Parma and Stockholm.
Ferrero announced in an official press release that none of the children's products placed on the German market had tested positive for salmonella.
In addition to Germany, various children's products are also being recalled in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Great Britain, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, Israel and Australia.

But what can customers who have bought these children's products do now?
Various supermarket chains have commented on the Ferrero recall at the request of the Hamburg consumer advice center.
"Of course, customers who have bought the corresponding products from Ferrero can return them to Edeka for a refund of the purchase price without presenting the receipt," said Edeka*.
The discounter Netto announced the same.
For Kaufland and Aldi, safety and customer satisfaction come first.
"Since we obtain products from the production plant you mentioned, we took the allegedly affected items and their batches from Ferrero out of sale as a precautionary measure on April 5," says Kaufland.
Products can therefore also be returned to the store without presenting the receipt.
The Ferrero recall affects numerous supermarkets in Germany.

"We want our customers to feel comfortable with their purchase from us and to be satisfied with the quality of our products," was Aldi Nord's reaction.
With the so-called "Aldi guarantee", the discounter offers an "uncomplicated exchange and guarantee scheme".
According to information from Aldi, the affected children's items can be returned indefinitely and without presenting the receipt.

According to its own statements, Lidl is taking the same path as Aldi, Kaufland, Edeka and Netto.
“The products bought from Lidl can be returned in all branches.
The purchase price will of course be refunded, even without presenting the receipt.

However, Rewe and Penny refer to the official regulation and recommendation of Ferrero in the recall.
“The affected products are branded items.
In this respect, Ferrero shows how customers can return these products for a refund of the purchase price.
If, in individual cases, customers also want to return the affected products in our stores, we will find an accommodating arrangement.”
