A search was underway this Wednesday at the Buitoni factory in Caudry (Nord) where all the pizzas in the Fraich'Up range are manufactured, implicated in the case of contamination with E. coli bacteria, the gendarmes announced. .
The search is taking place under the responsibility of the Paris prosecutor's office, which opened an investigation on April 8 for "involuntary homicides", "deception" and "endangering others".
On March 18, Nestlé (owner of the brand) issued a massive recall of these pizzas after dozens of French children fell ill.
Since then, analyzes have confirmed "a link between several cases and the consumption of frozen pizzas from the Fraîch'Up range of the Buitoni brand contaminated with Escherichia coli bacteria", according to a press release published at the end of March by the General Directorate of Health, which depends on the French government.
