Instead of visiting, as every year on Passover, the national parks, which will probably be tiredly crowded, try new places, such as design exhibitions that are suitable for the whole family.

Some are held in design museums and galleries, some inside commercial design complexes and some in the open public space.

Admission to most of them is free, and they all provide an escapist, different, optimistic and humorous experience.

What:

Once a year, the Industrial Design Department at HIT, the Holon Institute of Technology, visits the alleys of Jaffa for the "In the Middle" exhibition, which is being held this year for the 22nd time in a row.

The exhibition reveals to the general public the next generation of designers.

The planning, construction, production and curatorial processes are all done by the students in the department, who present their works developed during the last school year.

The design-art collection of the collector Galila Barzilai-Hollander is displayed in a new design-art exhibition, which is currently opening at the Holon Design Museum.

The exhibition includes items from her private collection, and more than 180 works by about 150 artists and artists from Israel and the world, which give a new interpretation to the concept of "home" by simplifying the concept and its rooms.

The exhibition invites visitors on a journey full of humor, laughter and emotion, alongside asking questions and issues for thought about the obvious.

A signal from the future

What:

A poster exhibition of 60 top designers, emphasizing futuristic typography.

Among the artists: Amnon Iluz, Shachar Reiner, Tal Fogel, Shai Ben Ari, Nurit Cognac, Itai Blaish, Itamar Makover, Anat Warszewski and others.

A reporter can turn himself into a kind of art: his formality and the use of colors, volumes and proportions make him a design object.

The Hebrew script has come a long way over the years - from the ancient peg letter, to the form we know today.

Will the same signs that were used by the Bible writers, the poet Rachel and the drafters

of the Declaration of Independence continue with us into the digital future?

Exit exhibition to the public space.

Out of the concrete, an exhibition is exposed on the walls of buildings and urban walls, combined with street art.

The exhibition features selected works by graduates of art and design academies.

Their unique perspectives allow for a wandering in a world of feelings and emotions, which takes place in the range between the physical and the virtual, between the private and the shared and between the intimate and the revealing.

What:

The exhibition introduces visitors to an escapist and humorous world, which invites experience and raises questions.

Designers Adi Ezer and Yotam Shafroni, owners of Studio Nov, create unique design, furniture and lighting items.

At the center of their worldview are playfulness and improvisation.

They designed three colorful rooms with toys for children and adults, alongside additional elements, such as lighting fixtures, designed under the same concept.

All items in the exhibition are made from recycled elements and items that have fallen out of use.

What:

An exhibition by world-renowned artist and designer Polly Applebaum, who lives and works in New York.

It is known for its large-scale installations, which are characterized by bold colors, in which it combines textiles, ceramics and painting.

In her solo exhibition she turns the exhibition space into an active and energetic space, where the viewer is invited to experience the works as he walks around and on them, surrounded by colors, objects and surfaces.

What:

A design-art exhibition with the participation of 24 Israeli designers in the fields of power, technology and materials, who created limited edition objects for the complex.

The exhibition features more than 40 objects from the fields of furniture, lighting, decoration, housewares and sculptural design, which are a window into the existence of a local design art scene.

The exhibition was curated by designer and creator Tomer Nathaniel Levy.
