A new method for the treatment of lung cancer, developed by the Israeli company Naotex and still in the clinical trials phase, offers real hope in patients with metastatic cancer.

The purpose of the drug, "suprantigen" is called, to activate specific cells of the immune system to attack cancer cells.
In its action, it binds some genetically engineered bacteria to receptors found in, among other things, the diseased cells, and at the same time, a response is created that encourages the cells of the immune system to multiply and develop.
If approved at the end of the clinical trials phase, the drug will be a breakthrough in the ability to attack various cancerous tumors, based on the immune system that develops alongside the disease and depending on the development of the tumor.

The drug can bring about a regression of the disease and prolong the life of patients.
Nautex recently reported on the appointment of Dr. Scott Fields as Chief Medical Officer. Those behind the development are Nobel Laureate in Chemistry for 2006 and Chief Oncologist Professor Roger Kornberg, and the company's president Dr. Marcel Rosenzweig.
