The sports court of the Hamburg Football Association (HFV) has banned two amateur footballers from the Hanseatic city for life.
HFV Managing Director Carsten Byernetzki confirmed a corresponding report by NDR.
The two players belonged to the second team of FC Bergedorf, which caused a violent outbreak with several injuries in a district class B game against TuS Hamburg II at the end of March.
After being sent off, there were scenes similar to a hunt, as can be seen on a video available to SPIEGEL.
Pack formations can be seen on it, as well as punches and kicks.
A TuS Hamburg player runs away and is being pursued.
Viewers try to settle.
The scenes caused a stir beyond Hamburg amateur football.
Only one day after the escalating game, FC Bergedorf announced that the second team would be withdrawn from the game.
There are also criminal consequences
The sports court issued a total of eight suspensions.
In addition to the two players who have been banned for life, one player has been sidelined for three years and another for nine months.
A player from TuS Hamburg was also banned.
The club signed the team off with the association after the game.
According to the HFV, the club still has to name a player and a spectator who are also said to have been involved.
Byernetzki praised the referee's prudent behavior.
Sports courts like the one in Hamburg are not comparable to state jurisdictions, they only decide within the association, for example on bans.
However, penal consequences cannot be ruled out.
As the "Hamburger Abendblatt" reported, two players had to be taken to the hospital, and the police were also on duty.
As the NDR reports, there were reports of bodily harm.
