A tipper from the Rhine-Main area has cracked the lottery record jackpot of 45 million euros.
Since he is the only player nationwide to have typed the six correct numbers including the super number, he does not have to share the millions with anyone, as the Hessian lottery company announced in Wiesbaden.
After 16 draws in a row nobody had won the main prize, the Hessian now receives the prize pot that has increased to the maximum and thus prevented the distribution in a lower prize category.
Without the correct crosses on the Hessian lottery ticket, five correct numbers plus a super number would have been enough for the jackpot in the draw on Wednesday.
It was a so-called forced distribution after the lotteries had recently had no big winners.
Previous record: 42.6 million euros
For the man from Hesse, the numbers 2,7,22,29,42,46, including super number 2, now bring the record win into the till.
According to the lottery company, the probability of six correct numbers plus a super number is 1 in 140 million, with a compulsory payout the probability can be significantly higher – at a good 1 in 15.5 million or even better.
According to the lottery company, since September 2020 there has been a winning plan for 6 out of 49, which provides for a payout even in a lower winning category if the jackpot reaches a maximum limit of 45 million euros.
Not a single player had six right numbers in the drawing on Wednesday.
74 players had five correct numbers plus super number and now each get almost 147,000 euros.
A guaranteed jackpot payout of 45 million euros was already paid out on January 19th.
At that time, players from Hesse, Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Brandenburg and North Rhine-Westphalia had to share the pot with six correct players.
Each winner received 7.5 million euros.
The highest profit so far was almost 42.6 million euros.
The winning record for the Eurojackpot lottery is currently 90 million euros, but the maximum possible jackpot was recently raised from 90 to 120 million euros - albeit with lower chances of winning.
On April 1, a person from Lower Saxony won more than 24 million euros in the lottery, which is offered in 18 countries.
