Stranger Things fans have been waiting for new episodes of the hit series for almost three years.
The official trailer for season 4 keeps the tension rising.
The wait was apparently worth it: Netflix* recently released a three-minute trailer for Season 4 "Stranger Things" – and it doesn't disappoint.
Eleven, Mike, Dustin, Max and the rest of the small-town Hawkins squad must face their greatest threat yet -- even war is on the cards.
And this once again seems to emanate from the parallel world, the "Upside Down".
Stranger Things trailer: Season 4 darker than ever?
Season 4 begins around six months after the events of the last season.
The friends are still dealing with the aftermath of the Battle of Starcourt - for example, Max mourns her brother in the trailer.
And for the first time, the group is separated from each other for an extended period of time.
But supernatural dangers are not long in coming: The new trailer shows that it will be dark - there will be another encounter with the Demogorgons and many other creatures seem to be up to mischief.
However , the
main enemy
in Season 4 appears to be a being that
is physically more human
-like .
What is hidden behind this character?
Netflix hit "Stranger Things" returns: reunion with fan favorites - and new mysteries
Jim Hopper
, believed dead, also
has an appearance in the new trailer: he is stuck in a Soviet prison and apparently has to compete with other inmates against Demogorgons.
In addition, a mysterious grandfather clock and a creepy house in the forest seem to play an important role in the new episodes.
The first episodes of Season 4 will be
released on Netflix on May 27, 2022
, with the
remaining episodes on July 1, 2022
.
A 5th season has also been confirmed, but the story of "Stranger Things" should end with it.
