(ANSA) - PARIS, APRIL 15 - The French economist Jean-Paul Fitoussi died last night in Paris, he was 79 years old.
He learned it from his family.
Professor emeritus of SciencesPo, of which he had created the Department of Economics, he was also a professor at Luiss in Rome and a member of the Center for Capitalism and Society of Columbia University.
Keynesian, an attentive observer of economic, political and social current events, founder and long-time director of the French Observatory of Economic Conjunctions, had directed the Commission for economic performance and social progress with the Nobel Laureates Joseph Stiglitz and Amartya Sen, which in September 2009 had of GDP to determine the level of well-being of the populations.
Fitoussi knew and loved Italy, from the time he spent in Florence, at
Institute of European Studies of Fiesole, said that he had been "one of the most beautiful of his life".
