Tel Kadesh in the Galilee

Tel Kadesh is a national park in the eastern part of the Upper Galilee, and you have probably passed it many times.

Did you think to stop?

Because as soon as you do dedicate yourself to this small and beautiful space, you return to it again and again.

The reason: a precise combination of antiquities and archeological finds scattered in the area, and spectacular views of the Galilee and the Golan Heights.

Kadesh was a city of refuge mentioned in the book of Joshua, but the remains you will find in it today date to the Hellenistic and Roman periods.

These remains include what is left of a huge temple about five meters high, lots of decorated columns, sarcophagi (coffins made of stone) and more.

A paved and accessible path leads to all of these, which will also take you to scenic views and pleasant bathing spots.

Ein Salokia in the Golan

This well-kept space was once called Ein Salokia.

Today it is better known as the "Springs of Eden".

One way or another, the place offers a smart and precise combination of nature and human design.

The result: a relaxed coveted corner with a relaxed spring flowing between pools of water surrounded by black basalt rocks and small stone bridges.

Ein Salokia is located in the heart of a lush orchard, eucalyptus, fig and date trees, aquatic vegetation and serious basalt structures - a remnant of the Syrian village of Casbia.

From here you will not want to go home.

Ein Nazem in the Beit She'an Valley

The Arabic name of Ein Nazem is Ein Hanzir (Pig).

So you really want to take a dip in a place called that?

well yeah.

Ein Nezem creates a setting that on the one hand looks wild, and on the other hand - relatively neat and easy to reach.

The place, hidden next to agricultural fields near Kibbutz Sde Eliyahu in the Beit She'an Valley, is actually a natural and deep pool (caution with small children), embraced on all sides by a green thicket that gives the place a feeling of blessed detachment.

So spring now, the sun has come out and you have no choice but to make a proper development for immersion trips.

Bring plenty of water and food, because you will probably spend a lot of time there.

Camel Mountain in Mitzpe Ramon

What is the chance that there are two places in Israel with the same name?

Well, there is a camel mountain in the Galilee and there is a camel mountain in Mitzpe Ramon.

The first is tall, the second is Nancy.

Remember this when writing the name of the place in Wise.

This time you want to get to the southern camel, which offers a much easier hike.

How easy?

It will end before you even start.

On the other hand, Mount Gamel in Mitzpe Ramon, high above the views of Ramon Crater, offers a long stay in front of the desert landscapes, which are difficult for a week.

It is recommended to visit it before or after a trip in the area, especially in the early morning or in the evening.

And if you're in the business of exceeding the hundred-meter limit, continue quickly from Camel to the crater promenade, and discover more views.

By the way, if you're wondering why this mountain got its name, just look at it from the side.

Ein Pick in the Golan

It is said that the truly equal springs are the ones that require you to walk for a long time.

So say.

Ein Pick may be waiting for you at a little over a hundred meters from the vehicle, but with such a special beauty, we will not be petty.

The spring, near Kibbutz Afik in the Golan Heights, stems from the depths of a cave and flows into a beautiful, small pool.

But you do not have to dip here to enjoy what this dim space offers, which is densely packed and sheltered on all sides.

Just grab a quiet corner.

Need no more than that.

Itamar Ilya lookout point in Givat Gurney

The Itamar Ilya lookout point near Arad is familiar to many of those who made the Israel Trail, but it turns out that this beautiful corner, which offers a net desert view, without too many clichés, can also be reached by car.

The road is a bit shaky, but in return you will get panoramic views of the desert in its most beautiful season, including glimpses into Nahal Tselim that meanders down there, at the foot of the lookout.

This watchtower was erected in memory of Itamar Ilya, a cruiser fighter and resident of Arad.

Here, all you have to do is sit in front of the view.

And that's definitely a lot.

Please note: This lookout is not a Gorny lookout adjacent to Arad (a point worth stopping on its own).

Arrival:

On road 3199, about three km east of the village of Nokdim, turn left onto a dirt road with blue trails. After about 3 km you reach the lookout point.

As of this writing, the lookout does not appear in Wise.

Aloni Yitzhak Reserve

There is real inflation in the use of the word "wow", but when there is no choice, it must be used.

"Wow" is the word that comes to mind when arriving at the Aloni Yitzhak Reserve at the right time (winter and spring, early in the morning or in the afternoon).

The small reserve that stretches near Givat Ada is inhabited by Tabor oak trees, along which a short circular hiking trail passes.

But the oaks are just an excuse: everything here is as if planned for a romantic getaway on a weekday, or on the other hand - for a family trip on Passover.

Everything goes.

In addition, the magic secret of the reserve is the fact that it is almost impossible to see through the dense thicket the agricultural fields that surround it.

Thus, a rising sense of detachment arises in the heart of nature.

The short route is controlled by white arrows, but there is no chance of getting lost.

And if so - then you just won.
