(ANSA) - PARIS, APRIL 15 - Outgoing president Emmanuel Macron would win in the second round of the French presidential elections against Marine Le Pen with a score of 54% against the 46% of the RN candidate, according to a poll by BVA for RTL and Orange.

Emmanuel Macron thus earns a point at the expense of the far-right rival compared to the survey carried out by the same institute a week ago, before the first round.

Five years ago the current president won with 66.1% of the votes against 33.9% of the challenger.

According to the survey, every day before the second round, the average participation expected would be 73%, a level very close to that of the first round (73.7%).

According to BVA, Macron benefits from a greater influx of votes from the electorate of candidates present in the first round, especially from the basin of Jean-Luc Mélenchon (LFI).

According to the poll, 30% of Mélenchon voters will abstain and 22% think they will vote blank ballot.

But among those who will go to the polls, the choice will fall more on Macron (30%) than on Le Pen (18%).

Macron is largely in the lead in the over-70 age group (70% against 30% of Marine Le Pen), while the situation would be of substantial parity for 35-49 year-olds.
