Earthquake of magnitude 6 in Tonga

(ANSA) - ROME, APRIL 19 - A magnitude 6 earthquake hit the archipelago of Tonga around 6 am this morning in Italy, shortly after the 6.3 earthquake recorded in the night off the eastern coast of the Philippine island of Mindanao.

   This was reported by the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center.

    The earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 km, 129km from the capital Nuku'alofa.
