(ANSA) - NEW YORK, APRIL 19 - The International Monetary Fund cuts the growth estimates for 2022 and 2023 for Italy.
After + 6.6% in 2012, the GDP of the Belpaese is expected to grow this year by 2.3%, or 1.5 percentage points less than the January forecasts (-1.9 over October 2021).
For 2023, growth is expected at 1.7%, 0.5 percentage points less (+0.1 on October).
And the slowdown in growth is expected to continue with GDP rising by 0.5% in 2027.
Italy and Germany are the two euro area countries that have undergone the greatest downward revisions following the "greater dependence" on Russian energy.
