"We are proud to present our new development charms: jewelry for your bikini and body. Get ready to fall in love this summer," Neta Alchemister announced in a headline in a post she posted last Sunday to her Instagram account of one million seven hundred thousand followers.
She unveiled the jewelry she created with her partner in the Bennhut brand, Noa Benny.
The post, which soon garnered thousands of likes and dozens of enthusiastic responses from surfers and local egg stars, also contained quite a bit of criticism and skepticism about its resistance to salt water and its safety in the hot Israeli sun.
However, most surfers reacted more to Alchemist's cut.
"This is something we invented from scratch," Alhamister told Israel Today.
"One of the models very identified with 'Banhanhut' has a pendant in the middle of the swimsuit. About two years ago we started talking about the theme of the pendant for our other models, and talked to our factory that specializes in jewelry. We were surprised to unequivocally add safety charms. "And after we tried it ourselves, we confirmed it and it happened."
Where did the ideas for the charmer's designs come from?
"We wanted cool, summery things. Noa and I were responsible for the design of the product. We didn't see it anywhere. The first time we did something without being inspired."
The charmers are actually made of surgical steel in a pink gold PVD coating with a steel hinge reinforced with a locking mechanism.
"There is nothing to worry about at all," Neta reassured when asked about the product's safety.
"The products have passed all the necessary approvals and they meet all the parameters in the context of swimwear. It does not heat up, it is water resistant and does not remove color," she added.
The price of a basic necklace is NIS 259, but if you want to diversify and enrich it with the various charmer shapes offered, such as banana, cherry and watermelon, you will have to part with an amount ranging from NIS 199 to NIS 219 for just one addition, in addition to the necklace price.
In response to the high prices displayed on the site, Alchemister told us that "prices are not set in our opinion, and everything is affected by the manufacturer's price. We tried to reach the best price, and that's what came out."
