Adventure novels, polars, mangas, love stories, comics, plays, great classics, there is bound to be ONE book that has counted in your life.

As the Paris Book Festival opens its doors on Friday April 22 at the Grand Palais Éphémère, France Télévisions and BBC Studios in partnership with Le Parisien are organizing a major competition that will allow French people to choose their favorite book.

And this, without any pre-established list.

The French like to read and they are fiercely attached to books.

They have largely proven this during the health crisis by providing unwavering support to booksellers.

For the first time in France, and thanks to a vast system, a consultation opens to French people of all ages whom they read every day, to relax, in transport or only during the holidays.

"The opportunity for each and everyone to celebrate all books and to highlight the great richness and diversity of our literary heritage", underlines the public audiovisual group.

Until May 16

The operation will take place in three phases.

Until May 18, all those who wish to participate can go to the website ftvetvous.fr/livrefavori.

It's very simple, you just have to rate your three favorite books.

Phase two, which will take place from July 18 to September 4, calls on 50 personalities who will come to present the first 50 books in the ranking on the antennas of France Télévisions.

The French will again be called upon to go to the site to vote.

We will have to wait until next fall to know the name of the favorite book of the French.

It will be unveiled during an exceptional evening on France 2.
