GTA 6: Fake ads are up to mischief – advertising discovered on YouTube

GTA 6 was officially confirmed recently.

But fans haven't seen a trailer yet.

Now the first ads for the game are up to mischief on YouTube.

New York – Rockstar Games* currently has its hands full.

Finally, the developer from New York is officially working on the next title in the Grand Theft Auto series: GTA 6*.

At the beginning of February, fans were redeemed and finally the developer admitted that GTA* 6 is actually in development.

However, there was no trailer* or even a release date.

Nevertheless, commercials are already circulating on YouTube about the game.

What are these fake ads all about?

Fans would love to have a trailer for GTA 6 to get a first impression of the game.

After all, players have been waiting for a sequel to the popular Grand Theft Auto series for several years.

Fans will probably have to be patient, because insiders believe that a GTA 6 trailer will probably not be released until the end of 2022*.

Nevertheless, advertising for the game is already circulating on YouTube.

User*in LegalWallhacks posted a screenshot of such an ad on Reddit and asked if other people were seeing these ads.

The screenshot shows a human silhouette in the sunset.

Next to it you can see a street with cars and buildings and architecture in the background.

From a purely visual point of view, the screenshot could easily come from GTA, after all, the developer from New York is only too happy to play with such images in its trailers.

But fans quickly become suspicious.

Because the Rockstar Games logo can be seen in the top right corner, but it gets strange in the bottom left corner.

There you can see a GTA 6 logo with the text addition "May 2022".

However, a release in May 2022 is unlikely, after all, work on GTA 6 was only confirmed a few months ago *.

If the release were already in two weeks, the developer from New York would certainly have communicated this directly.

Advertising uses clips from other games:

The well-known GTA YouTuber MrBossFTW also took a closer look and noticed that the alleged GTA 6 advertising is a compilation of clips from other games.

There are probably excerpts from Saints Row, Need for Speed: Heat and The Crew in it.

Whether using the official Rockstar Games logo is legal is questionable.

Certainly, the developer from New York will soon take action against these fake ads from GTA 6.

Beware of fraud:

Until then, fans should be careful and under no circumstances click on further links.

Since we haven't received the GTA 6 ad yet, we can't say where the links in it lead.

However, it is quite possible that you will be redirected to a phishing and scam site and the scammers hope that fans will enter their data or download files.

These files can be viruses or malware and should therefore not be downloaded under any circumstances.

However, since the GTA 6 advertising can very easily be exposed as a fake, hopefully true fans will not fall for it.
