Is your boss a loser?
A research team has now compiled the qualities that a good manager should have.
Leading a team or even an entire company is certainly not an easy task.
Many know it from their own careers: Looking back, bosses are divided into the "good guys" and "bad guys" in their profession*.
But what actually makes a good manager?
A Google research team has dealt with this question.
In 2008, the Google internal research project “Oxygen” started.
"Our attempt to find out what makes a good manager at Google," says the website
withgoogle.com
.
The team was able to identify eight behaviors that were common among top-performing managers
.
These were then included in Google's manager development programs.
"By educating and educating managers on these eight behaviors, we've seen an
improvement in management at Google and team outcomes like revenue, satisfaction and performance
over time ," the Oxygen researchers said.
But over time, eight important managerial skills became ten.
“We found that the qualities of a good manager at Google* have grown and evolved over time with the company,” explain the responsible Google employees.
