Damascus University and the Diplomatic Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants signed today a memorandum of understanding to enhance scientific and cultural cooperation and to support and develop joint cooperation between the two sides in the field of training, development and cultural exchange and to conduct regular studies in the field of languages.

According to the memorandum signed by the President of Damascus University, Dr. Muhammad Osama Al-Jabban, and the Director of the Diplomatic Institute at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Imad Mustafa, the Office of Profession Practice at the Higher Institute of Languages ​​at the University of Damascus provides the required courses and lessons in the building of the Diplomatic Institute and the language courses that will be agreed upon later, while the Diplomatic Institute provides all the requirements Implementation of these courses of equipment and technical tools.

According to the terms of the memorandum, all trainees are subject to a language placement test to determine the levels they will join in the courses. As for the trainees who do not have any language ability in the language they wish to learn, they enroll in the introductory level without the need for a placement test, provided that the duration of the course in any language level is 50 hours The timetable for the start and end of the courses and the timing of the lessons are determined by agreement between the two parties.

The two sides agreed that the trainees would be sorted and distributed in the courses based on the results of the placement test, the development of the study plan, the selection of the necessary educational materials and the qualified teacher for each level by the management of the office of practicing the profession at the Higher Institute of Languages ​​in consultation with the administration of the diplomatic institute.

The Higher Institute of Languages ​​is also committed to providing free workshops to trainees at the Diplomatic Institute at a rate of two workshops per month for four hours on one of the current issues and in the language chosen in coordination with the administration of the Diplomatic Institute.
