Öko-Test: Seven creams were rated as "poor" or "unsatisfactory".

Just as many received the grade "good" or "very good", including a Rossmann own brand.

Frankfurt - The consumer magazine

Öko-Test

published the results of a test of tinted day creams in its May issue.

Almost all of the 20 products tested had ratings ranging from “very good” to “unsatisfactory”.

A recall had to be started as well.

Tinted day creams in the Öko-Test: Conventional and organic products were tested

Face creams with tinting are designed to deliver skincare and makeup in one product.

Tinted creams are also benefiting from the increasing popularity of two-in-one products, and the selection has grown in recent years.

After compact powders were recently tested by

Öko-Test

, make-up creams have now been sent to the laboratory for a test.

The consumer

magazine Öko-Test tests

- as is often wrongly assumed - not only organic but also conventional products (the "eco" in the name is actually due to the fact that the sustainability of the products also plays a role in the test criteria).

Among the products tested were the most well-known brands such as the eco-manufacturers Lavera and Dr.

Hauschka and the conventional manufacturers L'Oréal, Biotherm and Maybelline, but also drugstore brands, reports

Öko-Test

Öko-Test results: failed seven times, but also seven (very) good results

Öko-Test

reports on the 20 products tested

in the May issue of the magazine: four creams were rated "very good" and another three creams were rated "good" - including the inexpensive natural cosmetics cream from Rossmann's own brand Alterra for around 3 .50 euros, reports

Öko-Test

.

But seven of the day creams tested did not pass the test either, reports Öko-Test, some with the rating "poor", others even with the grade "unsatisfactory".

The products failed because of undesirable ingredients found in the creams, some of which are said to be carcinogenic.

The test results can be viewed in detail on the

Öko-Test

website (for a fee).

A recall because Öko-Test had found a substance that EU regulations prohibit

The test laboratory also detected the synthetic perfume substance Lillial in a Charlotte Meentzen brand product.

In an EU-wide chemicals regulation, the substance is classified as dangerous and has therefore been banned in cosmetics sold in the EU since March 2022, reports

Öko-Test

.

The company Charlotte Meentzen has therefore stopped the sale of the affected cream Kräutervital day cream tinted (beige) and started a product recall.
