Ukrainian mother to son fighting with Russians, 'put down your weapons and go home'

that a

Ukrainian mother made to her son

after discovering that she is fighting alongside Russian soldiers.

   Her story is told by the office of the Ukrainian Security Service of the Volyn region, in the north west of the country, which posted the video appeal addressed to her son on Facebook.

   "Many invaders came to Ukraine with the war despite having relatives in our state", explains the text accompanying the video.

   The mother of one of them lives in Volyn.

In 2017, her son graduated from a military school in Omsk and remained in the Russian army.

The son contacted his mother for the last time in March, but he did not confess that he was fighting his country of origin.

However, Ukrainian counterintelligence has now discovered that he is currently fighting near Kherson in the ranks of the Russian occupation army.

   "Your whole family is here, your father is buried here, the grandmothers who loved you so much. I miss you very much and please, son:

lay down your arms and go back to your native Ukraine, to your home

", says the woman, turning to to the son.

   "It is hard for a mother's heart to believe that her son came to his homeland to kill Ukrainians. Therefore, she asks her son to lay down his arms and not to fight against peaceful and innocent people," explains the Security Service. Ukrainian.

   The woman also made an appeal to Ukrainian mothers whose children are fighting on the side of the Russians: "Tell your children to go home, perhaps this is the only chance to save their lives".
