French film actor, director and producer Jacques Perrin, known for his leading role as Salvatore in
Cinema Paradiso
(1988) and in
Peau d'âne
(Donkey Skin, 1970
)
and for having directed the documentary
Nomads of the Wind
(2002) , on the emigration of birds, has died this Thursday at the age of 80 in Paris, his hometown.
His relatives have been the ones who have announced, through the France Presse agency, his death.
“The family has the immense sadness to inform you of the disappearance of the filmmaker Jacques Perrin, who died on Thursday, April 21 in Paris.
He died peacefully at the age of 80, ”they explained in the brief statement.
