A man attacked several people in Kongsberg, Norway, with a bow, arrow and stabbing weapons, killing five.
In the forthcoming trial against the attacker, the public prosecutor wants to demand that the suspect be placed in a psychiatric institution.
This is reported by the responsible prosecutors.
According to the prosecution, the 38-year-old Dane was mentally ill during the October 2021 crime.
The public prosecutor therefore considers him to be of unsound mind.
A German dead
The attacker killed five people and injured three in the small town of Kongsberg, about 80 kilometers southwest of Oslo.
According to police, all of the fatalities were stabbed, most in their own homes.
Among the dead was a native German.
Shortly after the crime, investigators spoke of an act of terrorism.
The indictment accuses the man of five murders, eleven attempted murders and 13 counts of "grave threats".
The 38-year-old is also accused of throwing a knife at three police officers.
According to the NTB news agency and the newspaper "Verdens Gang", the trial against the man is scheduled to begin on May 18.
