(ANSA) - ROME, APRIL 25 - Chinese President Xi Jinping congratulated his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron around the time of his re-election, underlining that in recent years "the global strategic partnership between China and France has maintained a high level of development that will give new momentum and new contributions to global peace, stability and prosperity ".
In a note reported by the state broadcaster CCTV, Xi said that "the international situation is currently undergoing profound and complex changes and the strategic significance of the healthy and stable development of relations between China and France has become increasingly important".
Xi endlessly hoped to continue working with Macron to bring the relations between the two countries "to a new level for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries and of the whole world".
