You always make too much mashed potatoes.
Don't throw away the rest, use them to make these simple and delicious waffles.
Do you keep finding it when you make mashed potatoes?
You would probably never peel and boil as many potatoes if you served simple boiled potatoes as a side dish.
So it's not surprising that there's always a small amount
of mashed potatoes
left over.
If you're not one of those people who also love cold mashed potatoes, this leftover often ends up in the trash.
Unfortunately, mashed potatoes don't taste very good when they're warmed up.
From now on you don't have to throw away leftover mashed potatoes.
You can simply
bake savory waffles from it

Savory mashed potato waffles: You need these ingredients
350 g cold mashed potatoes
100 grams of flour
10 grams of butter
1 egg
100ml milk
a bit of salt
1 waffle iron
some butter for the waffle iron
How to make savory mashed potato waffles
Place all ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix thoroughly.
The easiest and fastest way is with the hand mixer (the test winner (2020) from Bosch is currently reduced, advertising link)
Now preheat the waffle iron and grease it well.
Place a large tablespoon of waffle batter on the waffle iron for each waffle circle, close it and bake the mashed potato waffles until they are nicely browned and crispy, about four minutes.
As soon as the waffles are ready, let them cool down on a wire rack or the rack in the oven.
Done are these easy
mashed potato waffles
that save the rest of the mashed potatoes from the bin.
Serve with a herb quark for dipping, or simply serve the waffles as an accompaniment to the dish of the day.
You can refine the mashed potatoes with herbs before baking.
