Actor and self-proclaimed wellness guru Jeffrey Craigen filmed himself performing a haka, a ritual dance practiced by New Zealand Maori, on Mount Batur.
He published the video on the Internet.
After numerous complaints, he was arrested and interrogated on Monday.
Now the Canadian is to be deported.
According to the Indonesian authorities, no airline wants to carry him because he has not been vaccinated against the corona virus.
Not a single airline has agreed to take him, Tedy Riyandi from the immigration service in Bali's capital Denpasar told the AFP news agency.
According to the authorities, Craigen traveled to Indonesia as a tourist at the end of 2019 to learn alternative healing methods for osteoporosis.
According to his own statements, he did not know that Mount Batur is revered as a sacred mountain by many people in Bali.
The head of the immigration service, Jamaruli Manihuruk, therefore appealed to all foreign visitors to "respect the laws and culture of Bali".
Almost 200 tourists were deported from Bali last year, partly because they had violated corona rules.
The case of a Russian influencer and a Taiwanese youtuber caused a stir in May: a video published by the couple showed how the woman had entered a supermarket with a face mask only painted on.
After an outcry of indignation, the two had to leave the island.
