And also: what is the thing that annoys the passengers the most during the flights?

There seem to be things much more annoying than crying babies

Middle seat on a Molon Labe Seating plane (Molon Labe Seating, YouTube)

So how long are you really able to sit in the plane seat before you lose sensation in your buttocks or before your lower back starts to hurt?

In light of the many complaints many passengers make to airlines around the world, who do their best to maximize their profit line, including using narrower seats and with smaller legroom and less padding, it is surprising to find that many still manage to fly several hours comfortably.

This is according to a new survey by PhotoAID.

In February 2022, the company surveyed about 1,000 respondents.

The survey also included questions about the more annoying things that happen during the flight.

The main question in the survey was

"How long can you sit in the plane seat until you are no longer comfortable"?

The Matador Network website notes that more than a third of respondents (36 percent) said they could fly comfortably for up to four hours.

22 percent indicated that they are capable of doing so for up to seven hours, and nine percent reported that they would be comfortable on the plane seat for up to ten hours.

Four percent said that even more than ten hours of flying would not hurt their sense of comfort.

The survey authors say there is a high chance that the same four percent reported their experiences in the business department and not in the tourist disease.

These figures are particularly surprising these days, when the seats of the plane are becoming more modest in their dimensions.

For example, in American airlines, the average seat in economy class is 42 cm. This is compared to 45.7 cm and more in the 70s and 80s of the last century.

The space between the seats (or in simple words: the legroom of your legs) is currently around 76.2 cm. This is compared to about 91.4 cm in the 70s.

Moreover: today the thickness of the seat upholstery is also relatively limited in the past.

Sometimes it is an upholstery that is only about five cm thick.

Worst: those who rub and cough

Another issue the survey examined is what are the most annoying things about flights.

It should be noted that the survey was conducted among American travelers only.

And here are the results:

-Other passengers who do not cover their mouths when coughing or sneezing: 76 percent

-Unwanted friction or physical contact with other passengers: 75 percent

-Passengers watching videos without headphones: 75 percent

-Parents who let their children run unattended around the plane: 74 percent

- Passengers who lean their seat back or kick the seat in front of them: 74 percent

- Passengers with a bad smell: 73 percent

- Passengers who do not wear a mask: 73 percent

- Passengers who take over too many areas in the storage compartments above the head: 73 percent

- Passengers who eat food Fragrant: 67 percent

- Baby crying: 67 percent

- Passengers taking off shoes or socks: 67 percent

-Passengers who stand up as soon as the plane lands: 64 percent

-Passengers who often go to the bathroom: 59 percent

In addition, the respondents were surveyed regarding things that annoy them even before boarding the plane.

The third place was taken by the corona checks at the airport, in the second place travel restrictions that change frequently and in the first place (and expected) - delays and cancellations of flights.
