The couple had been married for 15 months and in May 2016 Heard came to court in Los Angeles bruised and crying.
She filed an application for a restraining order and deportation from Depp, and actually opened a box of vermin.
Depp's testimony ended after the lawyer's lawyer played a recording in the courtroom, where Heard was heard telling her husband that if he spoke publicly about the abuse he had suffered from her, no one would believe him.
"Tell the whole world. Tell them I, Johnny Depp, I was abused by my wife and it was a fair fight. We'll see how many people will believe you or stand by your side."
This testimony sealed a long line of horror stories the actor told in court.
