After the sharp decline last week, the new cases of Covid-19 in Italy are back on the rise.
From 20 to 26 April they were 22.7% more than the previous week, going from 353,193 to 433,321.
There are 11 provinces with an incidence exceeding 1000 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and in all the Regions there is a percentage increase in new cases: from + 2.9% in Piedmont to + 44.8% in Basilicata.
This was revealed by the new monitoring of the Gimbe Foundation.
The swabs carried out went from 2,294,395 in the week of 13-19 April to 2,563,195 in the week of 20-26 April, with a growth of 11.7%.
Gimbe, flop 4 dose, only 13% immunosuppressed and 2.8% fragile
6.89 million without even a dose.
Third dose coverage 84%
The fourth dose of the anti Covid vaccine was administered to only 13% of the immunosuppressed and 2.8% of the over 80, frail elderly and guests of the RSA.
Percentages that show a "struggling" campaign and describe a "resounding flop".
To describe it like this, based on the data updated to April 27 (6 am), is the president Gimbe Nino Cartabellotta.
88.1% of the population received at least one dose and 86.5% completed the vaccination course.
There are 6.89 million unvaccinated, of which 2.75 million recovered, protected only temporarily.
While the third dose was taken by 84% and 1.8 million are candidates to receive it immediately.
Gimbe, 1.2 million positives, madness to abandon mask when closed
Right instead say goodbye to green pass, gentle push to vaccine
"The data show that the circulation of the virus, already very high, is even increasing compared to last week. The average of new cases per day has risen to almost 62 thousand, the molecular positivity rate has exceeded 18% and the number of positives, largely underestimated, exceeds 1.23 million. With these numbers, if it is reasonable to send the green pass that has exhausted its role as a 'gentle push' to vaccination to the attic, it would be folly to abolish the obligation of masks in the local closed, especially if crowded or poorly ventilated, and on public transport ".
Thus Nino Cartabellotta, president of the Gimbe Foundation, with respect to the innovations planned for May 1st.
