Rare encounter with a giant white shark (Mauricio Hoyos Padilla)
A giant four-foot-long white shark was documented attacking a boat carrying a father, mother and their 14-year-old son who went fishing off the coast of Western Australia.
The monstrous shark is seen leaping out of the water, biting into the boat engine and then continuing to ambush the family in the water for an entire hour, unwilling to give up its prey.
David Tuckfield, his wife Konya and son Shelby went fishing, when towards the end they noticed the giant marine predator lurking for them.
A few minutes later the shark was seen leaping from the water towards the boat and sticking its jaws in the boat engine.
In the video they filmed, you can see the shark swimming right towards the side of the boat, opening its mouth wide and using its razor-sharp teeth to bite into the boat's external engine.
Screams of panic were heard by the family members who were attacked. Konya is heard shouting: "Oh!
He's trying to eat the engine! "She later told a 9News reporter:" I had duck skin!
I have never seen such a large shark. "Mr. Tuckfield added," You could feel the boat moving a little when he hit it. "

The family was enjoying a short fishing trip on Friday 15 April off the coast of Mandora, south of Perth, when the shark suddenly appeared.
They said that after the initial attack he continued to spin around the boat for about an hour before diving back into the depths.
David told 9 News: "We had a big guest from the depths, a nice sized white shark. He tried to take a bite out of the engine - we were mesmerized."

David said he of course had never seen a shark of this size, let alone such closeness.
In his estimation, the big white shark tried to steal the fish that Shelby fished - but without success.
The family returned to shore safely with all the fish they had collected.
David said: "We don't appreciate the sharks enough, until we come across one of these up close. It's their playground. In the end it was the highlight of the Easter weekend."
