(ANSA) - BELGRADE, APRIL 28 - A camp for illegal migrants in Velika Kladusa, in the far northwest of Bosnia-Herzegovina, close to the border with Croatia, has been emptied today and all the people present, about 300, have been transferred to the new Lipa reception center, set up in recent months in this locality near Bihac, just south of VelikaKladusa.
In reporting this, the regional media reported that the operation was carried out with the intervention of the local police and that there were no incidents.
The camp in question was built in 2018, in the face of the continuous arrival of migrants traveling along the so-called Balcanic route and intending to pass through Croatian territory to continue towards Western Europe.
The reception center of Lipa, built with the financial contribution of the international community, can accommodate up to 1,500 migrants, with conditions of stay even in winter weather.
Local police estimate that there are less than 3,000 illegal migrants currently present in the northwest of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
