(ANSAMed) - BEIRUT, APRIL 28 - Over 20 people have been killed in Syria in attacks claimed by Isis in various central-eastern regions of the tormented Arab country.
This was reported by the National Observatory for Human Rights in Syria, according to which the series of attacks carried out by fighters of the 'Islamic State' takes place as part of a campaign launched by ISIS on a global scale last April 17 and baptized "Revenge for the two shaykhs ".
The reference to the two shaykhs is to the former head of Isis, AbuIbrahim al-Hashimi al Quraishi, who was blown up during a US blitz in northwestern Syria on 3 February, and to the former spokesman of the jihadist organization, AbuHamza al Qurayshi, also killed.
The Syrian Observatory reports the killing from 17 February to today in the Syrian regions of Hasake, Dayr az Zor, Hama and Raqqa of 22 people, including 11 Kurdish and Arab militiamen affiliated to the Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK), 10 civilians and one non still identified.
