(ANSA) - ROME, APRIL 29 - Over 50 people were killed in Kabul today following a powerful explosion in a fly on the last Friday of the Islamic month of Ramadan.
This was announced by the Afghan Ministry of the Interior.
"The explosion occurred two hours after Friday prayers, while the faithful were performing rituals," said the ministry's deputy spokesperson, Bismillah Habib, adding that at least 22 people were injured.
The blast hit the Khalifa Sahib mosque in the western part of the capital in the early afternoon, Habib said.
A first official report spoke of 10 victims.
