(ANSA) - MADRID, APRIL 29 - Pedro Snchez's government must "assume the necessary political responsibilities" on the 'Pegasus case', the alleged spying operation against Catalan independence activists that has led to strong tensions between Madrid and parliamentary members: Ione affirms Belarra, leader of Podemos, one of the parties that is part of the executive incoalition with the socialists, and minister of Social Rights.

"We cannot wait any longer," added Belarra, arguing that we need to clarify the matter.

The words of the leader of Podemos, pronounced during a party meeting, came after alleged victims of the 'Pegasus case' pointed to the Spanish secret services as responsible for illegal espionage: accused by Sánchez.

Yesterday, precisely because of the tensions on this issue, the government touched the thud in Parliament on the crucial Ukraine decree, having found itself without the support of the Catalan independent party Esquerra Republicana and then saving itself with a margin of just 4 votes.

"In the coming weeks, the coalition government must return to dictate the pace of the legislature, must urgently rearticulate and restore the confidence of the parliamentary majority," Belarra said.
