Then you can bake a delicious cake in just a few minutes and enjoy it right away.

This specialty from Thuringia is not only exceptional and delicious, but also stirred together and baked in record time.

You only need fifteen minutes until the

Prophetenkuchen, also known as Huckelkuchen, is

Recipe for Prophetenkuchen or Huckelkuchen: you need these ingredients for the lightning cake

Portion:

1 cake

Preparation time:

5 minutes

5 - 8 minutes

  • 6 egg yolks

  • 6 tbsp oil

  • 100 grams of flour

  • 1 pinch baking powder

  • 6 tablespoons brown rum

  • 150 g butter, melted

  • some vanilla sugar

  • some powdered sugar

  • some fat for the pan

How to bake the Prophetenkuchen or Huckelkuchen

  • Preheat your

    oven to 230 degrees top/bottom heat

    and grease a baking tray - do not use baking paper.

  • Separate six eggs (this is how you can tell if they are really fresh) and beat the yolks with the hand mixer until they double in volume.

    Then stir in the oil.

  • Sift the flour

    with the baking powder over the egg and oil mixture - this step is important to avoid lumps forming - and mix well.

  • Now add the rum, beat the dough vigorously again and spread it on the greased baking sheet.

  • Then bake the prophet cake for 5 to 8 minutes

    , depending on the oven power, until the cake starts to bubble.

    But it must not turn brown.

  • Once the cake is out of the oven and has cooled a little, brush with the melted butter, sprinkle with vanilla sugar and then sift in the powdered sugar.

  • The

    prophet

    's cake is ready to be enjoyed.

    Huckelkuchen

    , on the other hand, is easy to understand.

    The thinly spread dough forms waves during rapid baking and thus a hilly landscape on the baking sheet.
