Wasps are considered very aggressive and annoying.

But you can get rid of them gently with home remedies.

What many do not know: This also includes plants in the bed.

However, there are some home remedies to keep the little beasts away from your own four walls and the bed.

This also includes five plants that you can sow in the house, on the balcony or in the bed.

These act completely naturally as a wasp deterrent and also do not require any chemicals.

Repel wasps: 1. Lavender

The herb is very popular in herb beds.

After all, it not only blooms beautifully and brings a Provence feeling to your own garden, but it also exudes a unique scent.

This is due to the essential oils* it contains, which can also have a calming and relaxing effect.

But wasps prefer to run away from the scent of the purple flower.

What we find beneficial and inhale when we have a cold, put in the full bath or drizzle on the pillow is dreadful for the pests.

Repel wasps: 2. Basil

Basil has a similar effect on wasps.

In summer, the herb is indispensable, after all it is an absolute must for fans of Mediterranean cuisine.

Whether tomato and mozzarella, summer salad or in a dip: Basil can be used in many ways*.

This in turn has an unmistakable scent due to its essential oils.

While we are thinking about vacation, the stinging pests find the scent unpleasant.

The same goes for thyme and rosemary.

A herb pyramid in front of the house* is therefore a good idea for all garden enthusiasts who often have to struggle with wasps.

Repel wasps: 3. Piss off plant

"Piss off plant": This name says it all and leaves no doubts - if you have uninvited guests in the garden with a sensitive olfactory organ, you should bring this mint plant into your garden.

The plant, also known as harp bush*, exudes a menthol-like smell that not only wasps but also cats perceive as unpleasant.

In addition, the purple flowers provide a visual eye-catcher in the local greenery.

Repel wasps: 4. Lemon balm

Besides lavender or basil, there is probably no other plant that spreads such a holiday feeling on the balcony or terrace: lemon balm.

In addition, it is not only very good in dishes, but also as a decorative element in cocktails.

It also has a wonderful scent, so its leaves are ideal for processing into teas*.

But wasps do not like the intense smell of the medicinal plant, which is why they prefer to stay away.

What sounds strange at first is true: wasps are not fans of the delicious red fruit vegetable.

While pests are only too happy to feast on them*, the yellow-black troublemakers don't like tomatoes* at all.

Basically, it is the foliage of the popular vegetable that has a very distinctive scent that the wasps don't like.

This also applies to other insects, such as mosquitoes.
